Foster Joins PBC

 PA BEEF COUNCIL WELCOMES NEW STAFF MEMBER 

 Bedford, PA – The PA Beef Council (PBC) is excited to welcome Emma Foster as the Director of Marketing and Industry Relations to the PBC staff. Foster holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Penn State University and a M.S. in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School. She has prior experience in research and agricultural management along with administrative roles, most recently working as a Binding Coordinator for an Insurance firm. 

 She is a partner in Crossroads Cattle Company, a Registered Red Angus cow-calf operation in Crossroads, PA. Crossroads Cattle shows exhibits their cattle across the country. 

 Foster will work on behalf of Pennsylvania beef producers, directly engaging with foodservice and influencer professionals telling the story of beefs great taste and nutrition. In addition to her consumer facing role, she will also direct and coordinate the PA Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program. The BQA program is a cornerstone program for PA beef producers and Foster will coordinate educational efforts and programming for certified producers. 

 Courtney Gray, previous Director of Marketing and Industry Relations will transition to the Director of Communications with the PBC.

The Pennsylvania Beef Council is a producer-controlled and funded organization, which administers the Beef Checkoff Program in Pennsylvania. The Beef Checkoff Program assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle, in addition to a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. Checkoff revenues may be used for promotion, education and research programs to improve the marketing climate for beef.
